Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Med ICU CWR
Duties:
Job Summary:
-The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care.
-Plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient s needs.
-Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
-Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
-Initiates assessment based on the patient s problems or needs, the physician s medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
-Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
-Manages care of patients.
-Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities.
-Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
-Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skill:
Required Skills & Experience:
-Two-three (2-3) years prior (strong) Med ICU or ICU experience required.
-Must have strong experience with central lines, ventilators and ICU Cardiac Telemetry.
-Must be competent to administer blood transfusions.

-ASN.
Preferred Education:
-BSN.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-BLS - AHA.
-NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
-ACLS.
-Telemetry
-NIHSS
-CEU Contact Stroke 4 Hours.

MICU CCU STAFF 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM 3 x 12 Every Other Weekend Required or as Needed Holidays Required as Needed based on unit need - eve/day - with consideration and within reason for work life balance for holiday needs No On-Call Requirement Float Requirement to like ICUs Required Years of Experience: 3 Preferred Years of Experience: 5 Required Hard Skills: Complex critical care CCRN level care high acuity Mechanical ventilation Complex vasopressors Sedation/paralytics- strong understanding of sedation / spontaneous breathing trials for mechanical ventilation Arterial line Swan ganz Phlebotomy, arterial blood gas specimen collection. central line management - strong peripheral IV accessability Chest tubes Bladder management / straight catheterization CRRT Next stage preferred Balloon pump preferred Impellas preferred CCRN highly recommended/preferred Schedule per unit needs, cannot guarantee block schedules or special requests- schedule will be provided based on priority unit needs- requests considered but not guaranteed
