Title: Network Engineer
Location: Bronx, NY
Duration: 12 months
Job Description: - The position will report to the EITS Unified Communications Jacobi Assistant Director.
- The position provides support, optimization, administration, and technical documentation for localized hospital sites and/or enterprise network system.
- The person in this position will oversees daily support for Right fax, and other network technologies.
- The incumbent performs root cause analysis in finding resolution to network systems failures or faults.
- Responsible for managing major projects that impact multiple facilities, clinics and ensures the availability of mission-critical IT services.
General Tasks and Responsibilities Will Include: - Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision, troubleshoot complex routing / switching issues.
- Hands on expert experience in architecture/design, implementation & administration of data/VoIP networks
- Hands on expert experience in architecture/design, implementation & administration of Right fax enterprise architecture
- Hands on expert experience in Mobile carrier/radio carrier systems.
- Leads the research, selection, development, and integration of new technologies to meet the goals and objectives of the organization
- Responsible for diagnosing and/or resolving problems in response to reported incidents involving RightFax, mobile devices, Cisco VOIP, and PBX network components.
- Oversee DAS Technology at all NYCH&H locations.
- General maintenance of telecommunication equipment, circuits and phones
- Assist in configuring and installing various CISCO IP Phone models on CUCM various versions
- Perform move adds and changes on Cisco Unity Connection
- Maintain and troubleshoot CISCO VG224 Analog Gateways.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- In Depth technical knowledge and experience of CISCO routers and switches (Nexus), advanced routing/switching, platform configuration and basic network security
- Working with Telecom carriers during implementations and outages
- Hands on experience in voice, WiFi gateway and controller setup and maintenance
- Following establish organization change and release management procedures, naming standard and other internal processes and procedures for managing daily activities and changes
- Staying abreast of industry trends in order to proactively identify areas for growth, improvement, and development with the capability to implement industry best practices
- Leading network project implementations and implement, and integrate network solutions based on Cisco and third-party technologies including
- Performs trending analysis for chronic issue resolution and remediates escalated network issues
- Analyzes converged network traffic and reports to management on results
- Driving improvements in network process, efficiency and standardization
- Leading and guiding junior network staff
- Plans, designs, configures, installs, implements, tests, integrates, maintains and supports enterprise-level networks
- Provide technical oversight and support for the availability, optimization, performance and capacity reviews of network services, troubleshooting of various enterprise network technologies including but not limited to LAN, WLAN, WAN, SWAN, Network Load balancers, VIPs BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, VPN, WAP, NAC, NAT, SNMP, QoS, VLANs, ACLs, TACACS, and RADIUS.
- Leads small-scale network projects
- Provide technical oversight and support for the availability of network services, including design, implementation, administration, support and optimization of enterprise internetworking devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, security devices, and all supporting network fabric.
- Provide technical oversight and support for the availability of network services, including design, implementation, administration and optimization of an enterprise IP telephony network including voice gateways, VoIP call control systems, call queue control systems, auto attendant systems, VOIP systems and IP phones.
- Provide technical oversight and support for the availability of network services, including design, implementation, administration, support, troubleshooting and optimization of enterprise network management and monitoring utilities.
- Responsible for the installation and configuration of devices to standard configuration standard.
- Design and implementation of disaster recovery plans and disaster recovery quality assurance tests for the network infrastructure to ensure sustainability of business continuity operation and service availability.
- Work with internal business units and vendors to effectively engineer and implement network infrastructure modifications that further support the strategic initiatives of the organization.
- Actively and quickly resolve incident and request tickets and for problem resolution.
- Responsible for compliance with all Federal regulations audit in all facets for support and design implementation.
- Assist with training of junior personnel engineers.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned for business sustainability.
Preferred Qualifications for The Job:
CERTIFICATION(S)/NYS LICENSE(S): - CCNP or equivalent certification or experience
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) certification, required

Educational Level: - A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, applied Mathematics, Business Administration, Economics/Statistics, Telecommunications, Data Communications, or a related field of study; and
- Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems, and applications.
- Operations Specialty requires supervisory experience (5 years).
- Network Services requires a telecommunications background and experience.
- Broad knowledge and expertise in the characteristics of computers, peripheral devices, communications systems and hardware capabilities, programming languages, E.D.P. applications, systems analysis methodology, data management and retrieval techniques; or
- A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
Years of Experience: - Five (5) years of progressive, responsible experience in the field of data processing, computer systems, and applications.
- Operations Speciality requires supervisory experience (5 years).
