POSITION: LPN – Medical Surgical- 5400

SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING

Shift hours/Contract Length: 1900p-0700a, 13 weeks
Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
Charting: EPIC experience required
RTO/Block & Special Scheduling Requests: Must submit requests upon submission
Call off Policy: The client may cancel (call off) up to three shifts during a 13-week contract period without incurring charges for the canceled hours.
Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
Accept First-Time Travelers: Yes

REQUIRED LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS

Pending License Accepted: No, Must have an active New York Single State LPN license. (NY is not Compact)
Required Certifications: BLS
REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS

Experience Required: Must be able to take own patient assignment, with the support of an RN; Acute Care experience within the last 2 years
Vital signs, pain assessment, intake/output monitoring, isolation precautions, physical restraints, specimen labeling, Oxygen administration via nasal cannula, Feeding tube management, Telemetry monitoring, 12-lead EKG
Medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops), IV therapy with pumps, blood glucose monitoring
Wound care basics (simple dressings, JP/Hemovac drains), bathing and mouth care, Foley catheter insertion (male/female), clean catch urine collection, communication of status changes to RN/MD, MS/Tele care setting

Unit Details: Medical patients – COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive, social issues
Floating: Will be required to float within skillset
