Job Description:

Network Specialist to assist with implementation of Network technologies for key IT projects. Relevant experience in routing and switching, and deep packet inspection technology is required. Consultant will be assisting with architecture design planning and implementing changes.
SCOPE OF SERVICES- nNetwork – Routing, Switching, and Deep packet inspection:
TASKS:
1. Assign port for NetScout management ports and IP addresses.
2. Assign port for SPAN port to mirror traffic that needs to monitor.
3. Add tap links to the production path without impacting traffic.
4. Configure the SPAN port for port-mirroring.
5. Configure IP assignments for NetScout devices.
6. Validate packet capture on each device and set thresholds for alerts.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Note: Candidates who do not have the mandatory skills will not be considered

Twelve (12) years of experience in the field of networking, routing protocols,
Must have hands-on experience with BGP, MPLS, OSPF routing protocols in a large environment
Minimum 12 years experience in deep packet inspection technologies, and roll-out of Netscout Infinistream
The candidate must be able to follow a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week on-site and 2 days per week remote
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
nGeniusONE Configuration: Expert-level ability to build Service Dashboards, custom Monitors, and Alerting Profiles based on ASI (Adaptive Service Intelligence) data.
Experience in MPLS, EIGRP, OSPF, iBGP, eBGP, IS-IS routing protocols
Detailed understanding of deploying management protocols (SNMPv3, Syslog, Netflow,etc.) 4 yrs.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
Ability to work in cross functional teams; excellent attention to detail.
Experience reviewing project design and system documents 4 yrs.
Experience is designing including network architectural designs in MS Visio is desired
Familiarity with City of New York network infrastructure environments and processes
Advanced "Packet-level " troubleshooting skills. Must be proficient in deep-packet inspection (DPI) and decoding complex application flows (HTTP/S, SQL, DNS, VoIP/SIP).
