Position Summary/About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU to support Neuro ICU at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center - University Hospital. The unit cares for the patient population includes individuals with ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, subarachnoid hemorrhages, seizures, neuromuscular diseases such as myasthenia gravis and guillain-barré syndrome, meningitis, and post-operative neurosurgery patients undergoing procedures such as spinal surgery, craniotomies, and cerebrovascular surgery.. Bedside procedures such as tracheostomy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), Central Line and arterial line placement, EVD placement.

Requirements
2+ years of experience; With strong Neuro experience
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Required skills: SCREEN first time travelers Neuro Intensive Care Unit, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG, IV insulin protocols, Accessing/Managing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration

Weekend requirement: Every Other;


For day shift, weekends are considered Saturday and Sunday.

For night shift, weekends are defined as Friday and Saturday, meaning Sunday nights are not classified as weekend shifts.

Float requirement: will be required to float to different units within the OSU organization as needed

Refunds: Annual permits may qualify for a prorated refund for unused future months. Current and prior months are not refundable. Cancel by 6:30 p.m. on the last business day of the month to avoid the next month s charge.
